An experiment in embroidery

So I said a while back I had been doing work that was a little different but I wasn't ready to show it off yet, and here is one of the results. An original embroidery design! I embroidered olive while watching Bright Star, very inspiring film, and I am reasonably happy with how she turned out. If I did her again I would use thinner weighted lines in some areas but I love her anyway, even with her chubby parts : )
The lighting is a little shoddy but I couldn't be bothered editing it... I think you can see her well enough. She's embroidered on the wrong side of a vintage sheet. You can clicky click the picture to enlarge it.

So I'm thinking about turning her into a real-and-proper PDF embroidery pattern to share with the world, if I get enough interest. Would anybody like to have a go embroidering Olive? I'd love to see how she would come out of someone else's needle :)

How much would you pay to become a lizard? I mean, if you were into that kind of thing? Because here is the deal of the freaking century.

This McQueen dress in UK Vogue, you know, the one that goes with those shoes, is clearly an absolute bargain advertised at the low, low, lizardy low price of just £10,595. To look like a lizard. That is $16,678 in US dollars.
The sad part is how many girls I know who
would kill for this dress.

You really have to wonder if it is more or less than what this guy paid to achieve the same result...

I did it! I made my deadline. I am terrible at making deadlines, so I am pretty happy right now. But mostly because my store is open!

I especially love the leggings, which I am pretty sure are just a shoot prop (does anyone know?) but regardless, skin-toned tights and coloured sharpies? I feel a DIY coming on.

I'd Rather Be Wearing....

This one isn't that exciting, it actually looks like the majority of my winter wardrobe. I am just super in love with this coat from modcloth and the shoes with it. Sweet combo right?
